There were many wonderful displays at the museum especially in honour of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II Birthday Tea. Volunteers brought in some of their own treasures to be shown that day.
A Royal Tea was served complete with freshly baked scones, sweets and other delicacies. The tables were laid with our finest !
The first 50 who came for tea were also given a special portrait of The Queen sent by Buckingham Palace for the occasion.
President, Margaret Boyce and Consultant,
Karin Sheppard along with many volunteers worked tirelessly to create this event.
It was a great success.

Above, two Whitby Historical Society members hold up pictures of The Queen as they leave after having Tea and Scones. On the right, Betty, holds up pictures and a copy of 'Our Sesquicentennial Book' that was given to 9000 school children in whitby in honour of Queen Elizabeth II 80th Birthday.

Of course flowers for The Queen Elizabeth II's, 80th Birthday were displayed at the museum (see inset below), as well as several miniature displays created by members, from their own collections. Margaret Boyce created the one directly above from someo= of her treasures gathered over the years.
The small pint of cream to the left, is an original bottle from the Whitby Dairy. Brought out for service especially for The Queen's Party! (The cream is of course, fresh)
