'Perry', our little bear, says you can help. Please donate to the New Museum Complex fund today, every donation is appreciated !
After 40 years, our museum artifacts deserve a permanent home!
Our families, children and youth deserve a center where they can learn, laugh and take part. A place where heritage, wholesome values and community spirit meet all the promise of today's Information Age.
Our community deserves a wonderful new
Tourist Attraction,
a place to bring visitors and enjoy as a family.
Today youth are finding it difficult to establish a position for themselves in the world; often not because there is no place ... but mostly because they can’t conceive what their rightful place is, or what they can dare to achieve. Youth without adults to help guide them towards an achievable and wholesome objective often fall prey to those who promote a wayward sort of existence. If a youth enters this area, it is often years before they can turn their lives around and lead lives as good citizens.
Donor Recognition - A lasting memento of your generosity
Every donation is appreciated, from small to large !
Everyone involved with the current Museum, has benefited from what is has offered the community, through the visionary leadership of Margaret Boyce, President.
There are those who are gifted, and knowledgeable about their area of expertise. However, they lack what it takes to be a good teacher. Margaret is both gifted and has the mind set of a teacher. She teaches by example, osmosis and kindness.
I find that Margaret has a special 'something', a special way of communicating the excitement and vision of volunteerism. In a day when it seems volunteers are hard to come by, Margaret steadily attracts more and more. Together we make a wonderful team and get things done.
All children are born good, what happens along the way to adulthood is the catalyst. In the best spirit that is meant by the words, “It takes a Village ... ” Margaret Boyce has drawn many to her ‘little museum village’, and helped them learn new/old skills, and in the process helped build self esteem.
Society needs what we have to offer them in our New Museum Complex. It is a transformational idea whose time has come.
Many things have been done in communities, like building sports complexes, libraries etc. all very worthwhile things. There is a parallel vision needed, in order to achieve balance, so that our children and youth can be benefited.
our vision for a New Museum Complex brings grass roots volunteerism, education, history, culture, art, conservation of environment and wholesome values together to benefit today’s children, youth and families.
In a day when many projects focus on the disadvantaged, this idea would benefit those less privileged in one way or another, while not leaving out those who have a great deal of promise, just no where to receive direction or feel they can be included.
Many times parents in today’s world are both working to support their families, some are financially able to afford whatever they desire, but they don’t have the time or teaching skills to devote to furthering their children's skills through the crucial youth years. Please help The Whitby Historical Society establish this larger vision so more children can receive what only a few now have.
Every donation large or small, adds to our funds for the Museum Complex, ! You can help us achieve this Vision ! “Many small people who in many small places do many small things can alter the face of the world.”
